My name is Matteo Di Stefano. I am 22 years old and I come from Lugano, a city located in the south of Switzerland. I decided to come to Australia to have a break after three years of University in Italy, and to improve my English to study International relations in Geneva. Before coming to Australia, I always thought that English was an easy language to learn, but a few days after my arrival in Perth I realised that English can be tough (as well as stimulating). I started my experience in Kaplan Aspect Perth in a general English class for 12 weeks. After this I did the entrance test for the Cambridge Advanced English course which I fortunately passed. The only thing I can say about CAE is that it’s one of the most challenging courses I have ever done. Hard as the course is, Bryan, the teacher, is a really wonderful person and competent teacher. Thank you Bryan! As I said, English is not as easy as I thought, and for this reason I think that attending the classes is not enough to improve your English skills. In my opinion, the best way is to have fun, meeting a lot of people and enjoying the time you spend down under. It is the easiest way to get used to speaking and listening to English. |
