Cannes has approx. 70 000 inhabitants, and is famous for its annual Film festival. The pleasant climate on the Côte d’Azur offers guests ideal conditions for their stay: cafés on the Croisette, the beaches, the terraces, and the «le Suquet», the historical old part of the city, provencial markets, the old habour, the traditional quarter – all that within walking distance.
During the whole year the festivals are open to the public, (Festivals such as the cinema, classical music, society games, guitar, café-theaters, firework displays, dance and marionettes...). The Cannes-Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur Orchestra plays officially from the months of October to June and receives many regular invitations to play on various occassions. The city of Cannes has a great array of sport activites for visitors: 2 public swimming pools, sport arenas, tennis courts and there are over 30 golf courses in the region. Don't miss an excursion to the Îles de Lérins. This island is approx. 20 minutes away with the ferry.
