The city is known as being the center of industry and trading, and offers a great range of shopping and entertainment possibilities, as well as many leisure time activities. The climate is mild, making it possible to do sport outdoors the whole year round; sailing, surfing, fishing, diving, horse riding, tennis and golf.
You will find many festivals take place throughout the year in Auckland. In June you can get to know the culture of the Maoris at the Matariki Festival, and in September let yourself be inspired by the latest fashion trends at the Air New Zealand Fashion Week.
