Elba, the third biggest island in Italy with approx. 32 000 inhabitants is "a green garden in the blue ocean". Its surface area is about 224 square kilomaters and it offers an unbelieveable variety of scenery: pine and oak forests, chestnut and eukalyptus trees as well as the agaves that stretch down to the sea and make a stroll along the beach on a hot summers day very appealing. Wide sandy beaches turn into small bays with interesting rock formations and the crystal clear water is very inviting.
